If you're one of those people who likes to discover a place by bike—feeling the wind, pausing for a photo, finding a hidden spot along the way—we have some very special news to share. Garopaba is structuring its Cycle Touring Circuit, a route designed for those who want to go beyond the beaches and explore the municipality in a different way, slower and more intense at the same time. 

With approximately 70 kilometers distributed across 5 sections, The circuit will connect coastal landscapes, rural roads, native forest, and inland communities of Garopaba—all on two wheels. The official launch is scheduled for sometime soon. 2026

A circuit built together with the community. 

What makes this project even more special is the way it's being built. The Garopaba Cycling Tourism Circuit is an initiative that brings together... Municipal Government, The Tourism Secretariat, O SEBRAE and members of the community itself — especially cycling enthusiasts who know every curve of this territory like the back of their hand. 

This participatory process ensures that the circuit is not just a route on the map, but an experience that reflects the identity of Garopaba: the preserved nature, the local culture, and the hospitality of those who live here. 

A route to cycle at your own pace. 

The circuit was designed to offer different levels of challenge and varied landscapes.With variations in terrain, including calmer stretches by the sea and climbs that reward with breathtaking views, the route is dynamic and keeps the experience interesting from beginning to end. 

The division into 5 independent segments This is one of the great advantages: you can cycle the entire circuit at once, for the more adventurous, or explore each section on different days, combining biking with other experiences in the municipality. 

Section 1 — 11.0 km | 119 m elevation gain 

The circuit's starting point is Governor Ivo Silveira Square. This first section serves as an introduction to the area, with approximately 11 km and a lighter profile — ideal for those arriving and seeking a first immersion in the Garopaba landscape, continuing to the Siriú Beach. A great "warm-up" for what's to come.

Section 2 — 8.14 km | 241 m elevation gain 

This is the shortest section of the circuit, but don't be fooled: it's not the easiest. It starts at... Siriú Beach and, in just over 8 km, The trail already includes about 241 meters of ascent—making it the section with the greatest proportional altitude gain. But all this effort is worthwhile, as the landscapes begin to appear in a different way, with views that few people know, ending at the charming... Gamboa Beach ...and leaving that feeling of a challenge accomplished.

Section 3 — 15.68 km | 481 m elevation gain 

This is the most challenging section of the circuit. It starts at Gamboa Beach And, over almost 16 km, it totals about 481 meters of ascent — perfect for those who want to feel their heart race, and not just because of the scenery. There are climbs that demand more from the legs and descents that make it worthwhile, passing through stretches of native forest that make the route even more special. In the end, the arrival at Quilombo do Morro do Fortunato Complete the experience with culture and history.

Section 4 — 18.6 km | 317 m elevation gain 

This is the longest section of the circuit, stretching 18.6 km. It begins at... Quilombo do Morro do Fortunato It has a more balanced pace between distance and climbs, allowing you to enjoy the route more calmly. Along the way, you pass through less explored regions of the municipality, off the beaten tourist track, until you reach... Ouvidor Beach.

Section 5 — 16.52 km | 361 m elevation gain 

This is the arrival leg. With more than 16 km and approximately 361 meters On the uphill section, he finishes the circuit with a flourish. Leaving from Ouvidor Beach, the path leads back to the Governor Ivo Silveira Square, ...bringing that special feeling of a mission accomplished — like someone who truly got to know the destination, cycling every part of the way, and not just passing through it.

Support points along the way 

Cycling with confidence also depends on knowing there is support along the way. That's why the Garopaba Cycling Tourism Circuit will have a network of... accredited support points — identified with their own signs along the route. 

The establishments that will be part of the circuit will be selected through a Call for Applications for Support Points, approved by COMTUR (Municipal Tourism Council). This ensures that cyclists can find quality services, whether for a break, a meal, or a well-deserved rest. 

More than just logistical support, these points are a way to connect cycle tourism with the local economy, valuing the entrepreneurs and establishments of Garopaba that are part of this history.

Signposted so you don't get lost. 

The Garopaba Cycling Circuit was designed to be easy, safe, and intuitive from start to finish—even for those unfamiliar with the municipality. To achieve this, the entire route will feature... strategic signage, which guides the cyclist naturally along the route, allowing attention to be focused on what really matters: the scenery and the experience. 

Right at the beginning of each of the five sections, the cyclist will find a complete information board, With everything you need to know before you begin, the signs will include a map of the route, the distance, the estimated average time, the difficulty level, and the maximum elevation gain of the section. Each sign will also feature a QR code, which provides access to digital content, allows you to register your passage through the point, and, at the end of the circuit, request a certificate of completion. 

Along the way, the support points They will be properly marked, making it easy to identify ideal locations for a break, hydration, or rest. These spaces make the route more welcoming and help cyclists maintain a comfortable pace throughout the experience. 

To ensure even greater autonomy, the entire route will feature directional arrows indicating the correct path to follow. With this continuous signage, there's no need to rely on your cell phone all the time — simply follow the route with confidence and enjoy each stretch in peace.

Garopaba is known for its beaches — and rightly so. But those who cycle discover another municipality: mountainous, green, with rural communities full of history and a generous nature that extends far beyond the coastline. Bicycle touring is the ideal way to experience this inland Garopaba., which awaits in the hills, on the trails, on the dirt roads, and in the stories that each resident has to tell. 

The growth of cycle tourism in Santa Catarina is a well-established trend, and Garopaba is preparing to be part of this movement with quality, infrastructure, and, above all, the authenticity that only this land possesses.

Meanwhile, the team formed by the City Hall, the Tourism Secretariat, SEBRAE (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service), and the community continues working to ensure that every detail is ready to welcome those who come by bike.
