On the day 05/09 (Saturday), at 3:30 PM, it happens 2nd Garopaba Literary Meeting, promoted by the Garopaba Academy of Letters, with organization by Claudia Russo.
The event was created with the purpose of bringing together writers from the city and region for a moment of exchange, inspiration, and connection. The idea is to create a monthly space to share ideas, present works, and, in the future, even promote writing workshops and other literary activities.

Giants of the Sea returns to the House of Culture.
The Garopaba Cultural Center is honored to host, for the second time, the collective exhibition Giants of the Sea, promoted by the Santo Ofício Gallery, coordinated by Rosa Maria Feltrin and her team.
The exhibition brings together the most diverse forms of artistic expression — painting, sculpture, photography, textiles and installation — from local and guest artists, all inspired by the world of whales and cetaceans that call our coastline home.
More than an aesthetic celebration, the exhibition is a tribute to our most illustrious visitor: the Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis).
Every year, between July and November, they undertake one of nature's most exciting migrations. They leave the icy waters of Antarctica, circle the Falkland Islands and Patagonia, and seek the warm, calm waters off the coast of Santa Catarina to fulfill a vital cycle: giving birth, nursing their young, and resting.
Reaching up to 17 meters in length and weighing 60 tons, the southern right whale is easily recognized by the calluses on its head—like a fingerprint, unique to each individual—and the absence of a dorsal fin. Curious and docile, it is common to see them right at the edge of the beach, here in our bay, displaying leaps, fin slaps, and their famous heart-shaped tail, always closely accompanied by their calf.
Garopaba is located in the heart of the Southern Right Whale Environmental Protection Area, the first conservation unit in Brazil created to protect a cetacean species. Seeing a whale so close is a privilege, but also a great responsibility.
Each artist in this group exhibition presents their personal and poetic interpretation of these gentle giants. But the exhibition's greater purpose is to raise awareness: so that future generations can continue to be moved by, preserve, and care for whales and all marine life in our oceans.
